10 practical things to do in a long-distance relationship
First decide whether you want to meet at the same time or leave something for later. Time differences are not solved by demanding instant replies. These ideas include activities for a call and others you can do at your own pace.
A guide from the Nido team. The web activities are free; the app has free and Premium features.
1. One question and a voice note
Choose the same question and send a voice answer when you have time. Listen before changing the subject.
2. Cook the same recipe
Agree on a recipe and check the ingredients first. During the call, keep your phone away from water and heat.
3. A daily challenge
Play when it suits each of you, then compare results. Nido offers this through the daily challenge.
4. A neighbourhood tour
Send three photos of everyday places and explain why you like them. Avoid showing home addresses or people without permission.
5. One adventure turn
Continue a shared story without finding a common time slot. Nido's adventure works in turns.
6. A film with a conversation
Choose a film you can both access legally, start together and save comments for the pauses.
7. A surprise drawing
Draw an object from your day and let the other person guess it. Drawing skills are optional.
8. Plan the next visit
Suggest two activities and a rough budget. Also decide which part of the weekend you would rather leave unplanned.
9. A photo with context
Share an older photo and explain what was happening outside the frame. Choose which memories to keep.
10. A screen-free ending
Agree when to finish and when to talk again. Having time to rest without being available is part of the plan too.
